The Milton Ulladulla District Tennis Association's AGM was held last Tuesday and the committee for the next 12 months was elected.
President Pauline McIlveen outlined the various tournaments and special tennis events held in the past 12 months, which bring hundreds of visitors to town throughout the year, helping to put our district on the map and also raise funds for the ongoing management of the club.
Pauline thanked the committee, other volunteer members and coach Kevin Murphy for their dedication and contribution to the club, with special mentions to Jan Shalhoub, who has stepped down from the committee after seven years, and life member Val Crook, who has produced the club newsletter for the past 13 years.
Treasurer Lisa Masters presented her income and expenditure statement for the financial year, reporting that the club is in a sound financial position, and also answered some specific questions from those in attendance. Major spending this year has been on new fencing and tree removal from adjoining crown land.
Alan Pycroft was the returning officer for the election of the new committee. All existing members were re-nominated for their current positions except Jan and all were re-elected unopposed. Congratulations to the committee for 2020. President: Pauline McIlveen, secretary: Lynne Hill, treasurer: Lisa Masters, vice president: Maureen Mennie, general committee members: Pauline Proctor, Jenney Rutherford, Mary Lou Barclay, Frances Gumley, Doug Parker, Paul Woodcock, Paul Metzler and congratulations to new committee member Jackie Bryant.
