A married mother-of-six was rewarded for her business expertise at the national AusMumpreneur awards.
Luxury spa owner Louise Lugg won the NSW Business Excellence award at the ceremony held in Melbourne last week.
"I'm absolutely blown away," she said from Melbourne.
"The are 400 women here at the conference and the calibre of women is amazing. I was a finalist, but did not expect to win."
At 16 Mrs Lugg worked as a cosmetic consultant at Soul Pattinson Chemist. At 22, she opened the first beauty salon in Ulladulla.
In 2005 she opened Goddess Isis Health and Wellness Day Spa, which adjoins the family home in Burrill Lake. When she opened the spa her youngest child was eight years old and her oldest was 24.
Mrs Lugg finished her last diploma at 53 and now travels the world as a spa trainer at high-end resorts.
She lavished praise on her spa's staff as she could not win the AusMumpreneur award without their input.
"I have really passionate staff who run the business with love," she said.
"I give a lot of credit to the staff, beautiful community and clients."
Mr Lugg said she has a passion for her career because she loved helping people feel "amazing".
"Now it's my time to teach other people, empower them, not only my staff but across the world."
Following the conference Mrs Lugg remained in Melbourne to teach more beauty students.
