The society achieved second prize in Category A for 2019 - under 500 members in the group - in the Nick Vine Hall awards.
A certificate was awarded to the Society as well as one to the Editor, Julie Gullan for the December 2018 issue of the Pigeon House Tidings.
"We were all delighted with achieving this," Ms Gullan said.
The Nick Vine Hall Award is an annual event. It is for the best family history journal/newsletter in Australia and New Zealand.
The Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations Inc. (AFFHO) provides the award to encourage its member societies to produce quality journals/newsletters, and to honour Nick Vine Hall AM.
The Society also elected a new committee at its latest AGM.
Pam Johnson, Ron Smith Lynn Heller, John Sparks, Margaret Magnusson, Rita Newman, Julie Gullan, Christine Moss, Graham Ledwidge and Linda Stewart were elected and are looking forward to another fun and productive year for members.
The Society is also hosting an open day for the Family History Month on Wednesday, September 25.
The displays and information will be around the topic of 'School Days' and run 9am to 2pm in the lower room of the Ulladulla Civic Centre.
