Police asked her to submit to a direct RBT to determine the concentration. Despite 10 attempts, Lewin on each occasion placed the tube inside her mouth and mimicked blowing air. Police were aware because it displayed no air going into it.
She replied, "I am doing it."
Lewin was arrested and taken to Ulladulla Police Station. A translator was used to help complete the breath analysis.
She failed four more times because she blew "so softly" air failed to come through, facts stated.
About 9.41am, she made her fifth attempt and blew 0.216.
Magistrate Robert Walker fined Lewin $1500, disqualified her for nine months and placed her on a 24-month interlock order.
