The wet weather began on Monday, September 16, and the region has received about 27mm of rain in the 24 hours since, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Chilly temperatures have given some areas - like Nerriga - a smattering of snow instead.
The bureau predicts the rest of the week will remain cloudy, with sporadic showers, including a near 100 per cent chance of rain for the remainder of Tuesday, September 17.
From the morning of September 17 to the morning of September 19, the region may get up to another 27mm of rain.
Winds are predicted to be south to southwesterly at 20 to 30 km/h, tending south to southeasterly in the middle of the day. The day time maximum temperature is 15 degrees.
There is a hazardous surf warning in place for the region. The bureau predicts large and powerful surf conditions in the afternoon and evening, which will be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing.
