Dom Littrich said the band was born of geographic proximity and a shared love of a good jam.
"Myself and Ben Fryer lived 50m away from each other in Gerringong," he said.
"Jack [Kay] was also at Kiama High, so we roped him in as the bass player. Ben had heard of Harry [O'Brien] doing some solo stuff, he came over for a jam, and it just felt good from the start, we all clicked."
Since then they've released a single, and EP and performed with the likes of Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley and the Dune Rats.
Dom said, although all four band members have been to university, they hope to make a career from music.
"When we started doing ok, we thought we should knuckle down," he said.
"We've done some tours on our own and it was cool to be together, driving around in mum and dads van."
This tour will culminate with a performance at Yours and Owls festival in Wollongong.
"It's a bit of a dream - it's something we've grown up going along to, and it's such a cool line-up," Dom said.
Pacific Avenue cover genres from surf rock to grunge, brit pop and ballad rock - anything that "inspires people to jump into the garage with their mates and have a go".
If you want to support the awesome foursome in their quest to make a career out of music, they play at the Marlin Hotel on Friday, September 27.
