Tom put in a gallant effort going down 5-7 2-6 to the eventual tournament winner, who is currently ranked 2000 places higher than Tom on the Australian Men's Rankings. Tom then took his place in the consolation draw and recorded a dominant 6-4 6-1 win before being beaten in the quarter-final 4-6 3-6 to another eventual finalist.
Tom also combined with his brother Will in the 12 and Under Boys' Doubles and together they produced a first round 6-3 6-3 win before striking the top seeds where Tom and Will surprised their more highly credentialed opponents by taking the first set before succumbing for a 6-4 0-6 4-10 result. Tom and Will in their next tournament will be joined by Keitara Matthews as the Ulladulla contingent in the Batemans Bay Junior Championships to be held October 10-13.
School Holiday Tennis Clinic Fun
Coach Kevin and his Tennis Academy staff have again conducted another successful set of holiday clinics at the Ulladulla Tennis centre. At the clinics the kids get to be introduced to the game of tennis and meet new friends whist learning a new skill and being outdoors enjoying fun activities. The clinics are getting to be on the to do list of kids visiting the area for the school holidays with families from Adelaide and Sydney being amongst those attending the week one clinic.
It is also great to see later in the day those same families back at the courts having a hit of their own and utilising our fabulous tennis centre. Kevin runs similar activities to those at his clinics during his school term Hotshots and Group lesson programs. Contact Kevin if your child might be interested in tennis.
