Nirvana it ain't

Just past the Ulladulla sea pool, as you head east, there are steps heading up to Did-Dell Street. One hundred and eight of them. Coincidentally, the Buddhist faith says there are 108 steps to Nirvana. It is a strenuous, stimulating, and for some, a religious joy to take the climb. The only negative about the walk - and it is a major one - is the scenery. All the way up the steps, all you can see as you look to the left or right, are weeds and dumped rubbish. That ugly sight is typical of the bush all around Ulladulla harbour. Weeds, household rubbish and dog poo encircle the harbour. Why hasn't council arranged to clean things up? I look forward to hearing what aspiring councillors say about all of this in the lead-up to the election.
