Golf manager Barry West described the announcement as an important milestone for the club as it will further cement Hilltop as one of the nation's most desirable locations for high level competition.
"The NSW Senior Masters Championship will attract some of our sports most talented and recognised players, while showcasing our 18-hole championship course to a wider audience among the golfing community," West said.
The event comes off the back off of Mollymook hosting the NSW Senior PGA Championship for the past five years along with the Australian Senior PGA Championship in 2016, which resulted in industry recognition at the 2016 PGA Awards for "Tournament of the Year," as part of the Australian Legends Tour.
Mollymook Golf Club's Hilltop course remains as one of the top 10 courses in Australia to play following ongoing efforts by management to maintain the course in first class condition and West's efforts to increase awareness of its stunning location and overall player enjoyment.
"We are constantly told that our Hilltop course is more than golf, but an experience that keeps players coming back and we are fast-becoming known as one of our nation's premier golfing destinations," he said.
As part of the announcement, it has been confirmed that the NSW Senior Masters Championship will continue to be hosted at Mollymook Golf Club's Hilltop course and form part of the venue's calendar of events every year.
West added that an important aspect to the club's success in attracting such celebrated events was the effort made by the club's members.
"We have more than 100 members who volunteer their time to help us attract such big-ticket competitions and they should be incredibly proud of themselves, because we certainly couldn't have secured this event without their tireless commitment," he said.
The NSW Senior Masters Championship will boast one of the strongest fields on the Legends Tour including Peter Senior, Rodger Davis, Peter Lonard, Mike Harwood, Peter O'Malley, Peter Fowler and Terry Price.
Spectators are welcome to Mollymook Golf Club to watch the high profile players compete for the first NSW Senior Masters title on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19.
