It was a great day.
The fifth annual disabled surfers' hands-on day was held on Saturday, November 9 at Mollymook Beach.
The event was run by the South Coast Branch of the Disabled Surf Association for the region's disabled surfers.
Everyone - surfers, volunteers, parents, carers, one journalist and many others had a great time.
Jason was one of the stars of the day.
"Did you see that - I caught four waves in a row," he said.
Just up the beach, James from Parramatta was ruling the waves.
James is well known around the disabled surf events but this was his first time at Mollymook.
"I just love it down here and it's a great place to surf," he said.
Meanwhile, on the other side of things volunteer Jon was having a great time.
"We (volunteers) get more from this day than the surfers do," he said.
"You support them on the beach and then you get to see the surfers around the place and can say 'hello' to them."
There could be no better person to sum up the day than proud mum Bree Pennie, to sum up the event
Bree's soon to be five-year-old son Dax Roberts loves any disabled surf event.
Dax Roberts, like most children his age, loves getting outside feeling the wind in his hair and making the most of the wonderful Shoalhaven coastline.
Dax, however, was born with Cytomegalovirus (CMV) which left him with several conditions including quadriplegic Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, vision loss and small head size.
Dax had a great time on Saturday and his mum sent in an open letter to say thanks.
"Thank you just doesn't seem to express my gratitude enough. There are so many people and organisations who make a day like Disabled Surfers at Mollymook so wonderful.
"To Disabled Surfers South Coast thank you for creating magic and memories.
"To the local boardriders and surfing community, thank you for allowing participants to share in your love of the ocean.
"To business who donate prizes, goodie bags, trophies, food and staff to assist, your generosity doesn't go unnoticed.
"To people who volunteer in whatever capacity, be it in the water, at the sign on, behind the barbecue, or organising us all, I salute you.
"To the photographers and videographers who capture the joy. Thank you for sharing the story through a lens.
"To the cheer squads on the beach, the families, friends, and the community who just happen to be walking by and stop to see the magic. Thank you!
"But most importantly, thank you for smiling and saying hello.
"Thank you for seeing participants abilities over their disabilities.
"Thank you for creating a safe space for all to enjoy the ocean and experience the thrill of catching a wave."
From one stoked mama of a little surf grom - Bree Pennie.
Thanks go to Ocean and Earth, Southern Man and Akwa for the support.
