The first instance of community consultation was held at Peach Cafe, Milton on November 7 and 8.
IRT Head of Strategy and Innovation Rob Bruce and four colleagues heard suggestions from neighbours and the wider Milton community throughout the morning of November 7.
"We've had more than a dozen good conversations [on Thursday]," Mr Bruce said.
Many shared local history, stories of the site with reference to preserving or honouring its past history in future plans.
Mr Bruce said some ideas also included plans to integrate services in the community, such as Allied Health and the preferred size of villas or apartments.
The IRT Group will look to invite contributors to future workshops where they will take a "deeper dive" into preferences for design, amenities and layout options, Mr Bruce said.
Interested parties are also invited to submit feedback online at www.irt.org.au/irtsarahclaydon.
Community feedback is being gathered through to the end of 2019 with master planning and facility design expected to be in progress by early 2020. A development application is targeted for submission later in the year.
