Ice Schaap will be walking from Ulladulla Harbour to Pigeon House Mountain and back to raise awareness for men's health on the final day of Movember, Saturday, November 30.
Ice is walking 60 kilometres - a kilometre for every man who dies by suicide globally each hour. He will trek from the harbour through Milton and up the north side of Didthul and back via the south side of the mountain then through to Burrill Lake.
The idea follows on from activities Ice has been involved in as part of the Wellbeing Program at Ulladulla High School.
Over the month the school has hosted a Mollymook to campus breakfast walk and talk and some students and staff are attempting to grow moustache in an effort to raise awareness about changing attitudes to men's health.
The Movember foundation also encourages people to get active for the month.
"Let's start the conversation about male mental health, you know [we talk about] mental health in all [people], but especially in November, we talk about male mental health."
Pigeon House is a landmark in the area and his path will link the mountain and sea.
"It's a beautiful walk and there's a connection there, all the water flows back to the ocean. We all love the ocean, that's why we live here."
While he's not recommending people join him on the 12 to 13-hour walk due to safety risks, there will be plenty of time for people to have a chat. If you can't join him to ask, just google the reason why he's walking 60 kilometres.
"I would love for people to say 'oh, he's crazy' to walk 60 kms," He said.
"You don't have to donate money to Movember but if they say, 'oh, why, let's Google why it's 60'.
Ice wants to keep the conversation going about mental health. Australians may be great at helping their mates, but struggle to put up their hand when they're in need.
I think in Australia men and women are really good in giving support," he said.
"If you say I need a hand you've got 10 hands, but not everyone is good in asking for help."
With about two weeks to go, Ice will be preparing himself for the longest walk he will have ever done.
"It is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done and I hope I don't underestimate it but I think it's going to be a real tough day."
