It was a large turn out of Ulladulla RATS who gathered at the McDonald's car park early on Sunday morning, November 17, to car pool down to Monkey Mountain Road, Termeil. The weather was cool and for a change damp which was very welcome as runners faced a variety of distances ranging from 6km to 15.5km.

The Monkey Mountain run is a very scenic, challenging run, but well worth the effort. Our runners looking for extra distance ran 4.5km up Monkey Mtn, turning into Old Coach Rd. We were then faced with a steep 1km climb continuing through rolling hills and mountain mist ending up at Middle Ridge Road. On the return it was a speedy finish to the Bawley Point turn-off giving runners 15.5km which all were happy with.
Other runners and walkers did the big climb up to Pigeon House turn-off and return. We had one penguin (Ulladulla RATS speak for a runner that falls!) at the 9km mark who ended up with grazed knees but like a true RAT got the adrenaline rush, picked herself up and continued for a speedy finish.
RATS in the Field: Two of our young very talented runners travelled to Huskisson/Jervis Bay on Sunday, November 17, to participate in the Jervis Bay Marathon Festival. Joel Kemp ran the marathon in a fantastic time of 3:36:46 placing 29th. A brilliant run for Joel! Tilly Fischer ran the half marathon in a time of 1:30:38. That is an average pace of 4.23 per km for 21.1km. She was the 1st female across the finish line and 13th overall. Congratulations to you both. Amazing results. The RATS are very proud of both of you.
The local RATS runners headed back to Mavericks for some well deserved coffee and a birthday cake to celebrate Ian Robinson's special day.
A reminder to all RATS that our annual Christmas run is being held on December 15. Please mark it in your calendars!
