The job seeker workshop, hosted by Shoalhaven Business Chamber, was held at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.

Eight local employers and three professional presenters led breakout sessions for the almost 120 in attendance.

Topics included information on how to write a CV/cover letter, developing and achieving goals, and personal presentation.

Some members of the Shoalhaven Business Chamber who are hiring across a range of sectors also went along to answer questions, accept CVs and engage with job seekers of all ages.

President of the Shoalhaven Business Chamber, Jemma Tribe, said the event was well-received.

"I'm a big believer in local solutions for local problems so I'm glad we had the opportunity to implement this 'out of the box idea' to address a need in the Shoalhaven," she said.

"One lady I spoke to had secured an interview within the first five minutes of being there and there were a lot of other positive conversations happening in the room."

Surveys will be sent out to attendees this week to work out who is closer to securing a job following the workshop.

The project was funded by the Regional Employment Trials program.
