PDC Planners have applied to construct a boat shed covering an area of 18m by 15.925m at Barker Reserve, situated at the intersection of Moore Street and Lake View Drive.
According to development application documents the Mollymook Outrigger Canoe Club and Makai Paddlers Society Inc Club will use the two converted shipping containers, and an undercover area, to store watercraft and safety equipment.
The $80,000 shed is proposed to be constructed where the children's playground is located. It's proposed the playground will be relocated in Barker Reserve as required by council
Currently the Outriggers store their large canoes on the water's edge.
Shoalhaven City Council is accepting submissions on the proposal from November 20 to December 20.
