The Harris Scarfe ladies Grand Finals were played on Monday, November 25. A very warm day for tennis and the spectators enjoyed two fantastic matches. In Division 1 the tennis was exciting with Deb Loves, Barb Hollett and Lara Bennett defeating Di Farmilo, Robyn Cole and Pam Germyn 4 sets to 1.
In Division 2 some very hard tennis was played with Robyn Potts, Cindy McKenzie for Tammy Jensen and Suzy Flohr defeating Laraine Dunn, Melissa Charles and Marie Hill 4 sets to 1. Unfortunately, Laraine injured herself during her second set and could not continue playing.
After the tennis, the ladies enjoyed a sumptuous luncheon before the grand finalists were presented with Harris Scarfe gift vouchers. Several special awards were presented. The Julie Hamilton Award was presented to Pauline McIlveen for her exceptional support to our club, her sportsmanship and generosity both on and off the court. Division 1 Best and Fairest went to Robyn Cole while the Division 2 Best and Fairest went to Joan Clough. Once again, a huge thank you to Melissa Charles for her continual work in supporting our Monday Ladies Comp. Huge congratulations to the grand finalists and all of the players this last comp. We look forward to seeing everyone for our next comp in February 2020.
Local players excel in Goulburn tournament.
Two local players, Natasha Phillips-Edgar and Anton Willett, travelled to Goulburn to play the Goulburn Open Australian Money Tournament. The tournament was one of the strongest AMT's by number of players held in southern NSW over the last two years.
Both players performed well through the tournament with Anton winning through five rounds to make the semi-final of the Men's Singles and also making it to the final of the Men's Doubles whilst Natasha made the final of the Women's Consolation Singles after being knocked out of the Singles Main Draw in the second round. She then fell just short of the Doubles Quarterfinal losing a tight match tie-breaker after being 1 set all.
Natasha and Anton will now headline our local contingent, with both being at career high Australian rankings, for the South Pacific Open to be held at the Ulladulla Tennis Centre from December 18-22.

The draw for Saturday December 7 are Division 1, Donald vs E.Ogilvy and Gunn vs Matthews and the Bye team R. Ogilvy. Division 2. Bergin vs McDonald and Walsh vs Pinches.
