You just can't relax when a monster is knocking on your door.

Today was somewhat of a day of reckoning.

The blustery winds proved to be a nightmare for the firefighters and residents alike.

Places you went past the day before and thought 'the fire won't come back here' did just that and came back for a second strike.

At times day turned into night due to the thick blanket of smoke,

Places like Burrill Lake and Lake Tabourie both came under threat from the monster today.

However, as normal the firefighters charged in and put up a tremendous fight under difficult conditions.

Residents, as we publish this information, are facing another nervous night.

Let's all hope this nightmare ends and ends soon.
