Water bombing aircraft worked on Friday night and Saturday morning dousing the extensive swampy areas around the fire.
At last night's community meeting Incident Controller Superintendent Mark Williams explained that if fire goes into swampy areas the peat can burn underground for a long period of time, popping up into new fires with no warning.
The Comberton fire is burning in a north easterly direction, in the area of Boston Road. Weather conditions are forecast to deteriorate over the coming days. Ground crews are aircraft are fighting the blaze.
Those in the area of Boston Road and Springbank Road, should monitor the changing conditions. Know what you will do if the fire threatens.

If you are in the areas of Worrigee, East Nowra, Pyree, Culburra, Greenwell Point and Comerong, monitor the changing conditions.
