Players from the Greater Sydney Giants came down to the area on Sunday to help out where they could and also to make many people, as possible, smile.

The St George Illawarra Dragons are heading to the South Coast area for a number of community events, while the NRL grand final winning Sydney City Roosters are also coming down to the region this weekend.

Giants' players Jacob Hopper, Adam Kennedy and Sam Reid, during their mini-break from pre-season training, visited the region on Australia Day.

Regional Manager of AFL South Coast, Matthew Graham, commended the three Giants on their efforts.

"They contacted me to offer assistance wherever they could - it was amazingly generous," Mr Graham said.

They were not in town for a photo opportunity.

They spent the morning cleaning up a property at Yatte Yattah that was severely impacted by fire and helped rebuild a shed.

They then went into Conjola where they met local children, had a kick and enjoyed a barbecue with the locals.

After a busy and great day, the trio hit the road and drove back to Sydney in the afternoon. The Dragons visited the Conjola Park area yesterday and will go to some schools today.
