Comedia Peter Rowsthorn is hitting the South Coast to bring some much-needed laughter to the regions affected by bushfires.
South Coast clubs and the Mounties Group have organised his series of shows from Bomaderry to Merimbula in an effort to raise money for local relief funds.
Rowsthorn will perform five nights in a row, visiting Bomaderry, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Narooma and Merimbula later this month.
Various general, or secretary, managers have witnessed their townships come together during the the trying days of summer.
Club Catalina general manager Guy Chapman said he has been "blown away" by the amount of support flowing into the area with people wanting to know what they can do to help.
"Our towns rely on tourism, this represents quite a serious blow to all businesses, and by extension, all families in the area," Mr Chapman said.
"Australia is a nation of mateship, and right now we are in need of this camaraderie and support, more than ever. Our communities simply will not survive without the support of our fellow Australians."
Milton Ulladulla ExServos Club secretary manager Darryl Bozicevic hopes the shows deliver some relief and assistance for people affected by fires.
"By supporting the community and firefighters through the catastrophic fires, we have witnessed firsthand the generosity of the community, the tireless efforts of all emergency personnel, and the strain the fires have put on not only local families, but businesses as well," he said.
"With this in mind, the club has rallied behind the Comedy for Bushfire Relief South Coast Tour, and the Shoalhaven City Council Mayor's Relief Fund to raise funds for those affected by the fires and to bring some much-needed laughter into the towns of the South Coast."
