The 22-year-old will get a golden opportunity to impress Ricky Stuart and his staff, after being named in the Canberra Raiders 18-man squad for this weekend's NRL Nines competition in Perth.

Joining Murchie, who was born in Batemans Bay, in the 18-man squad will be Harley Smith-Shield, Semi Valemei, Matthew Timoko, Michael Oldfield, Daine Spencer, Matthew Frawley, Sam Williams, Dunamis Lui, Siliva Havili, Sia Soliola, Ryan Sutton, Tom Starling, Duwanye Mariner, Dan Keir, Kai O'Donnell, Darby Medlyn and Elliott Whitehead - who will captain the side.
Murchie's side, who will be guided by Raiders assistant coach Andrew McFadden at Perth, will first take on the Gold Coast Titans from 6.15pm Friday (AWST) - a side which involves two former Group Seven talents.
Their final pool match will see them lock horns with South Sydney from 12.55pm on Saturday before finals commence later that afternoon.
