With a reprieve from the wet weather the Junior Competition players were able to get on court for their matches on Saturday, February 15.
Under the circumstances of tennis training and playing having a disrupted start to the term, the tennis on display was of high quality and a credit to the juniors for what they all put into their tennis when they are on court.
Saturday's results were for Division 1. Team R. Ogilvy 35 games defeated Team Matthews 29 games while Team Donald 32 games drew with Team Gunn 32 games.
In Division 2 Team McDonald defeated Team Walsh 36 games to 28 and Team Pinches defeated Team Bergin 42 games to 22.
There is no junior tennis next Saturday due to the Milton Ulladulla Seniors Tournament. It would be a benefit to the game of any the juniors to witness the older players applying their craft and to witness the skill on offer.
These are lifelong skills you have once you learn the game of tennis and therefore the juniors are encouraged to attend and watch the Seniors Tournament.
Local girls off to Combined High Schools State Championships
Ulladulla High School students and locally coached players, Emily Upsall and Natasha Phillips-Edgar last week progressed through the South Coast Regional Tennis Trials to make it to the NSW CHS Individual State Championships next month in Parramatta.
It will be Emily's first time at the State Championships and is on the back of her playing some brilliant tennis in her matches during the trial day.
For Natasha it is her third year running at the State Championships and being in year 12 Natasha is hopeful of taking advantage of her age and experience to make a run deep into the Championships.
2020 Milton - Ulladulla Seniors Tournament
A reminder that the Milton Ulladulla Tennis Club will be hosting its annual seniors tournament on February 21-23.
The Ulladulla Tennis Centre will be a hive of activity with over 200 players from all around NSW, ACT and Victoria, converging on the Ulladulla district.
Beginning in 1999 as part of the Ulladulla Summer Games initiative, the 2020 tournament will mark the 22nd time the event has been held and this year's field is looking to be as strong as any of the past events.
This popular tournament appeals to many due to the friendships, camaraderie and good times that the competition brings and many players stay in the area for a holiday afterwards.
Residents and visitors are invited to witness some exceptional tennis being played and to see the outstanding facility we have in Ulladulla.
Entry to the complex is free and there are many viewing areas throughout with first class catering services. Any members or friends who can help out in any way should contact Jennie Rutherford on 0421 915 034.
