At a recovery meeting at the Lake Conjola Community Hall on Monday, a Laing O'Rourke spokesman said residents could expect the process to begin within two to three weeks.
"He said they will be starting at the top and working their way down, street by street," Conjola Park resident Shane Allen said.
Mr Allen said hearing of clean-up start date was a positive outcome for the community, but he understands the job will take months to complete.

"An uncontaminated site may take between one and two days, but a contaminated site [with asbestos damage] will take three days."
"It's still going to be at least two months, depending on the weather."
Last week Mr Allen spoke to the Milton Ulladulla Times about the concerns of residents surrounding asbestos. Council and Public Works Advisory have advised residents the air quality at Conjola Park is good.
Testing sites included impacted streets like Kurrajong Crescent, Coolibah Avenue, the Quarterdeck and Sandra Street.
At the meeting, government agencies reiterated the findings which said air quality testing results were below the detection limit of 0.01 fibres/mL.
Mr Allen wants residents still living in Conjola Park to be updated with testing results throughout the removal of hazardous material.
"I asked them to put a monitor up at a site, the day before, during and after," he said.
"Just do us a favour and keep us informed."
