Danielle Kemp came across a rare white magpie, scratching around for food, when she returned from a surf at Washerwomans.
She discovered the white, baby magpie and its regular-coloured magpie in Cherry Street, Bendalong.
"It was just foraging for food with its parents this morning," she said.
"They are rare, but [it's] great to see especially after the fires."
It is more than likely it has a condition called leucism, in which there is a deficiency of pigmentation resulting in white, pale, or patchy colouration of the skin, hair, feathers, scales or cuticle, but not the eyes.
Leucism is genetic, meaning there could be more near Bendalong and Manyana.
