The unavailability of Moises Henriques and Kurtis Patterson will force two changes to the side that lost to Victoria earlier in the week.
Both men have been selected in the Australia A squad - which includes Nowra's Nic Maddinson - to meet the England Lions in a day-night first class fixture at the MCG starting Saturday.
Henriques will captain Australia A.
Australian Test off-spinner Nathan Lyon is again available for the Blues, who remain on top of the Shield ladder despite their first loss of the season, against Victoria at the SCG.

Edwards' selection follows a magnificent 192 for the Cricket Australia XI against the England Lions, in Hobart, earlier in the week.
Sangha made 72 at number three, while Edwards, 19, also claimed two wickets with his medium pace during that match.
Despite not being a first class fixture, Edwards' century surpassed his previous highest score and maiden hundred at that level against Tasmania at the SCG, November 2018, when he made 101.
Sangha, 20, scored his maiden Shield century in that same innings and was named player of the match.
He made 117 from 223 balls and shared a 180-run partnership with Edwards that rescued the Blues first innings during that drawn match.
The last Shield match Sangha and Edwards played was the Final last season, lost to Victoria, with both players having played all 11 matches.

Gibson's last Shield match was against South Australia, late 2016, at Adelaide Oval.
Sangha and Gibson, 26, have both enjoyed very productive seasons in NSW Premier Cricket so far this season.
Across the T20, limited-overs and two-day formats, Gibson has scored 920 Premier Cricket runs for Penrith at an average of 54.1.
Captaining Randwick Petersham, Sangha has scored 865 runs at 61.8 across the three formats.
Gibson recently captained a NSW XI against the England Lions in a 50-over match, top-scoring with 87 from 80 balls.

The Lions won by 52 runs at Drummoyne Oval.
Blues captain Peter Nevill said while the strength of the squad will be tested against South Australia, the changes to the squad present opportunity.
"It's great for Moises and KP to get the recognition playing for Australia A, good to see they're close to that Australian team and hopefully they do really well down there," Nevill said.
"(It will) be great to see some young guys get an opportunity this game, to hopefully put in good performances and win a game for New South Wales.
"Jack Edwards (has been) making runs, Ryan Gibson's done extremely well in grade cricket and second XI, and Jason Sangha as well is amongst the runs.
"Rewarding guys that are performing well and that's great to see."
