March 6-8, Merimbula
Merimbula's Eat Festival celebrates the local chefs, cooks and produce of the region and is from March 6-8. It is headlined by Eat Merimbula on Sunday on the Fishpen foreshore of Merimbula's major oyster producing estuary. Here the industry's best come together in a bustling market-style setting to create inspired dishes featuring local produce. The dishes are presented in entrée sizes and prices are capped at $10 per dish. The event is free to enter and runs from 10am- 2pm. Merimbula Wharf restaurant and Wheelers will have special dining events and there will be a new craft beer event on Saturday at the Rockpool Café, Club Sapphire, Merimbula featuring a selection of bespoke brewers plus a Meet the Makers exclusive beergustation dinner on Sunday.
Calling all budding writers
March 7, Nowra
If you've ever dreamed of seeing your words in print, the So You Want To Be A Writer event at Nowra Anglican College on Saturday could be your first step to making that dream come true. Hosted by Allison Tait, Shoalhaven's bestselling children's author, the two-hour event aims to unlock the secrets of the writing and publishing world while raising money for the Shoalhaven Readers' & Writers' Festival. Country life
March 6-7, Milton
The theme of this years 151st Milton Show is "capturing country life". The show will highlight all the good things about where we live and how lucky we all are. The Milton Show is all about the community working together. There will be entertainment for all including the crowd favourites motocross, ute and truck show, woodchopping, live music, Shoalhaven Zoo, lawn mower races, whipcracking, mechanical bull rides and more. It is on at Milton Showground.
Night Markets
March 6-7, Nowra
Aussie Night Markets are bringing their international food festival to Shoalhaven for an exciting two-day pop-up event! There will be gourmet street food, international foods and dessert vendors to browse, a DJ until late, kids' entertainment and plenty of places to settle in and enjoy the feast. They are at the Nowra Showground on March 6 and 7 from 5pm-10pm.
Ocean swim
March 8, Broulee
Conditions are looking favourable for the ninth annual Hotondo Homes Broulee Bay to Breakers Ocean Swim at Shark Bay. The swim kicks off at 9am with divisions from under 16 to over 80s, an open classic and a multi-ability division. There is also an under 12 and under 14 500metre swim.
