In an united effort to lift each other up a heap of local music groups including Ulladulla High School choir, The Entertainers, the Glorious MUDSingers, The Escalators and The Stayers formed a pop-up choir.
The group has launched a song and music video about supporting each other through the bushfire recovery.
Tread a Little Lighter was written by local musician, Tina Broad, and features some of the Milton-Ulladulla community's top singers coming together as Sing Express.
"When something this devastating happens in a small community like ours the ripple effects are huge," Ms Broad said.
"Although everyone's determined to get through it, there's a deep sadness. Tread a Little Lighter is intended to be a little drop of musical healing after our devastating summer."
Ulladulla Public School teacher and regular in the Entertainers, Georgia Sadler, is one of the lead singers on the track.
"Being part of a shared voice that echoes our whole country at this time of need offered a form of closure in what seemed like an endlessly traumatic time. To me, the song shouts 'We've got you'."
Jenny Blunden, who fronts award-winning jazz outfit The Escalators, is another a lead singer on the track. She also enjoyed the the creative process.
"My hope is that the therapeutic benefit we enjoyed creating the song can be felt far and wide - it is genuinely from the heart."
Tina said the song was launched for two reasons.
"First, it's to help lift people's spirits - a promise to our friends and neighbours and to each other: we're all in this together, for as long as it takes.
If you're in a fire-affected area, this is from us to you too.
"Second, we want to salute our local volunteer organisation, Treading Lightly, and encourage people to give it support. It did great things in the immediate aftermath of the fires, helping to evacuate people, then clothing, feeding, housing and nurturing people to get back on their feet - always with a light touch. If the song moves people to support Treading Lightly's ongoing work, that would be fantastic."
Sanctuary Point producer Syd Green, ex Ulladulla filmmaker, Maya Tonkin Cook and local rock photographer Ruby Boland also lent their talents to the creative project, with a video that has garenered more than 40,000 views in just over a week.
The song is now available on all streaming services.
