Christopher Paul McMahon, 72, was charged with permitting a fire to escape on Boxing Day, 2019, causing damage in the Deua River Valley.
He was also charged with lighting a fire for land clearance or a fire break without a permit.
His solicitor, Wayne Boom, told the court he had not been able to find McMahon.
Magistrate Doug Dick said McMahon hadn't made contact with the registry, nor had he appeared in court on the three dates he was due to since January.
Magistrate Dick convicted McMahon in his absence, and ordered the warrant be issued.
