Following Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW's decision, on Tuesday, to 'strongly' recommend' games be called off, Shoalhaven District Cricket Association president Craig Howsan released a statement to all clubs outlining their outcome.
"It is with great reluctance that the executive of the Shoalhaven District Cricket Association has decided to bring season 2019/2020 to an early end," Howsan said in his statement.
"With the Federal Government banning gatherings of 500, outdoor, and 100, indoor, currently in place, more confinements must surely be on their way.
"The recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID 19 make it harder and harder to participate in the game we love.
"We would like to thank all of our players, partners, parents, sponsors and volunteers.
"We want to express our gratitude to the Shoalhaven City Council and the cooperation and understanding they have given us through the worst season possible.
"We must thank Sean Barrett, who has had the induction from hell with so many unimaginable occurrences, that no one can be prepared for.
"And we thank you [club executives], the leaders of our game, for without you, we do not have clubs for people to go to, teams to play with, and history to imbue.
"Shoalhaven cricket will survive, we will continue - normalcy will return in time.
"On behalf of the executive, I would personally like to thank you all, and hope to see you around the grounds, when we are allowed outside to play."
Howsan also said a decision on who would be crowned two-day premiers, in all four grades, is expected in the coming days - after the SDCA executive discuss it further.
