I have a holiday house behind me and the couple who own it said they made the decision to come on Friday to get out of Sydney. I am self isolating. Who knows if they have the virus? Anyway they won't starve as the husband has shopped for food Saturday, Sunday, and today
And it goes on!

Forced to close
After 15 years of hard work and dedication to the Shoalhaven region we have closed our doors at the Nowra Pot Trader, South Nowra.
We moved to our current site six years ago only to have our entrance compromised by building at large complex for Masters which obviously never opened, we struggled to get on track for three years after that with our entrance to our business obstructed. So much for small business.
Our lease expired this year at not having any success with negotiations we have decided to close. Thank you immensely to all our precious and valued customers over the years, take care in these unstable times, and may you all prosper in the future.

Why aren't we supplied?
I would like to know why the shelves in all our supermarket here in the shoalhaven are not getting filled. And where is all the toilet paper?
If they have warehouses full of it and have ramped up production, why are we still not getting any?
I have not been able to buy any toilet paper now for over six weeks. The last shop I did where I got my usual toiler paper was January. I did not go our and bulk buy, I can't afford to do that, I have not been able to get any since.
I am an essential service worker and by the time I get to go to the supermarket the shelves are empty.
Why is the Shoalhaven not getting the supplies to fill our shelves?
Please explain.
L. Nelson, Nowra
False hopes fuelled
Shame on you Coles, for keeping long lines of tired and expectant oldies queueing for up to an hour on Friday morning before announcing - at 7am door opening - 'NO TOILET ROLLS".
The polite and efficient manner of announcing the lack of toilet rolls would have been to make regular announcements from 6am.
I am an 83 year old long term Coles customer, who rose at 5.30am, drove from Shoalhaven Heads & was in the queue at 6.30. I am angry and frustrated at Coles' inefficient and negligent attitude.
It certainly sent a message that Coles have little consideration for the welfare of our senior citizens.

Still waiting for a reply
Kerrie Snowden from Shoalhaven Homeless Hub is right in asking what the impact will be especially for somebody who is homeless and gets sick and needs to isolate. She also highlighted that as of the day before there was no temporary accommodation in Nowra. Where do they go? Under bridges, ride the trains at night. Who is looking after them in their time of need? Minister Ward says a number of steps already taken and was working to increase the supply of temporary accommodation. Unions Shoalhaven requested a statement from him on October 23, 2019 about the long waiting times for public housing in the Shoalhaven. We asked how the government was going to reduce the waiting times for the applicants who are so desperately in need in this financial year. We are still waiting for a response and our follow up letter was responded advising that the Minister is drafting a reply and we will receive it when completed. Five months and still waiting.
