Shoalhaven City councillors have reversed the decision made at the development committee only two weeks ago, and have now approved the controversial boat shed development at Barker Reserve in Burrill Lake.

At the ordinary meeting on Tuesday, April 28 the development was approved with the use of the Mayor's casting vote to break a tie in numbers.
The approval was conditional and relies on council getting independent legal advice on the decision and the existing playground being relocated before construction starts.

Cr Joanna Gash she was sad to see the community had become divided on the issue.
"I do believe they are a bit misinformed," she said.
"I can't understand some of the concerns - it will give a coordinated approach for both the users and the residents in my book."
Cr Bob Proudfoot said every councillor wanted to give the outriggers a home but this wasn't the site.
"None of the side issues have distracted me," he said.
"What we're looking at is, is this a good site and I can't come to terms with it.
"I don't believe that this is a good location for the outriggers - it's that simple."
For: Crs Findley, Digiglio, Levett, Gartner, Alldrick and Gash.
Against: Crs Watson, Wells, White, Guile, Pakes and Proudfoot.
Cr Mark Kitchener abstained and declared a conflict of interest as his wife was a member of the Mollymook Outriggers Club for ten years.
