Some residents are wondering why the council thought it was a good idea to restrict parking at the Pumphouse car park on the Princes Highway that has access to Wairo Beach?
The newly placed sandstone rocks now restrict the parking area to around eight cars - which is not enough according to one resident.
"Last Saturday it was ridiculous and so dangerous with the amount of cars that were forced to park out onto the highway and even across the road,": the resident said.
"While I was there taking photos a truck drove past and had to evade parked cars by driving in the middle of the highway.
"It's not even tourist season and this is a head on accident waiting to happen."
The rocks were only placed there a few weeks ago and it's always been a popular surf spot and viewing point for the locals.
"Asking people to park somewhere else is not the solution," the resident added.

The resident suggested enlarging the car park or resurrecting the old one would be a better move.
A council spokesperson said they responded to a recommendations made from a local group
"Shoalhaven City Council placed rocks between a pedestrian track and informal car park adjacent to Wairo Beach upon recommendations by a local resident group," the spokesperson said.
"The rocks placed on location were intended to stop cars parking on the track which created a hazard to track users.
"Following reports of dangerous parking along the Princes Highway adjacent to Wairo Beach, council intends to replace the rocks with timber bollards and complete minor vegetation clearing to re-establish a car parking area."
