The grant allows council to run the Shoalhaven Local Heritage Assistance Fund, which is now open and offers small 'dollar for dollar' grants towards local heritage projects.
Mayor Amanda Findley was pleased to see the grant offered again for the 2020-21 period and supported this year's grant program theme of 'bushfire relief'.
"It is great to have the Shoalhaven Local Heritage Assistance Fund running again, and to see the support and recognition of the devastating impact of the recent bushfires on the Shoalhaven community and its heritage items," she said.
"This year priority will be given to the projects that seek to restore bushfire affected heritage items, with any remaining funds allocated as per the existing process.
"I strongly urge those who have received damage by bushfire to heritage items to consider applying for the funding, to help ensure the Shoalhaven retains its important character and heritage features."

The grant amounts offered by the fund are merit based and successful applicants will be required to match the funding amount from their own finances.
Individual grants may range from a few hundred dollars to a maximum amount of $5000.
Projects which are deemed eligible for the grants include local heritage projects which involve minor and/or maintenance works such as repair and conservation works and reinstatement of missing items on heritage buildings.
The grants are an incentive to assist the preservation of heritage items listed in the Shoalhaven Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2014 and other items of Shoalhaven heritage significance.
Applications for the program close on Friday June 26.
