An agreement was reached today with the developer, Ozy Homes, whereby they will give Manyana Matters 14 days notice if and when they intend to recommence works.
"This allows us further time to continue the fight to ensure a deal is brokered between the relevant parties for a buy-back of this ecologically significant land to ensure it is protected forever," a spokesperson for the group said.
"We will continue to urge Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley to call the Ozy Homes project in for a full environmental assessment post bush fires."
The groups says the block of land is important because it's one of the last remaining vital habitat areas for wildlife, including the greater glider.
The issue was heard in the Federal Court today.
The Manyana Matters spokesperson said the news had come on a perfect day as today (June 5) is World Environment Day.
More details to come.
