Dave Wright said Annie was found dead in a creekbed on Tuesday, June 23, just a couple of kilometres from where she went missing.
"It wasn't the outcome we were hoping for, but it is nice to have an answer," he said.
"And it's good to know nothing sinister happened to her - it looks like it was a misadventure of some sort.
"We really want to express our gratitude to the community for their support in searching for Annie. We wouldn't have found her otherwise."
Mr Wright said Annie was found by two teenage boys out for a motorbike ride at dusk. The boys walked the owners to Annie, who brought her home.
They were deeply appreciative of all the help offered by the community, which has allowed Annie to be brought home at last.
Annie has been buried on the property at Paradise Pet Parks.
