There are, of course, other well-known cancer fund raising activities run in the Milton Ulladulla district, but unfortunately the funds raised by these do not benefit our local Cancer Services provider. They are generally remitted to a "Head Office" somewhere; our Cancer Services Centre has not in the past received a single cent from them. Hopefully now is good time for all in our community to "think local first" when it comes to funding the ongoing maintenance of our local Cancer Services provider.

Stagnant, divisive, disorganised
Gareth Ward MP has identified the issues with Shoalhaven City Council correctly.
Speak with anyone within the region and they will all tell you the same thing.
Shoalhaven City Council is stagnant, divisive, non progressive and disorganised.
Why? Because the majority of the elected councillors are not pulling their weight, simply not doing the job that they were elected to do,
And that is work in a cohesive and professional manner for and on behalf of the residents of the Shoalhaven area.
Certain councillors are just content with playing politics and scoring points against their fellow councillors, so the progress of items that come before council become bogged down in arguments and point scoring that should not be taking place at all.
Yes, I and many , many other residents agree with Mr Ward, it's time for a change of Council
And the sooner the better.

Look after your own portfolio
It would seen that the Hon Gareth Ward MP isn't too concerned looking after his ministerial portfolio, especially one that is so important to our community. Social Housing, Child Wellbeing and Protection. Suggest Gareth you get on with your job and leave Local Government matters to the current elected people.

Maintain connections to the land
Shoalhaven City Council could best demonstrate their commitment to Indigenous culture by not destroying the latter's land connections. Stop giving approval to deveopers to raze forests in the beautiful Shoalhaven. Think differently by viewing the natural environment as the most precious, irreplaceable asset. After all, it is the central attraction in the region for people from urban areas.
Make it the tourist attraction through guided walks by Indigenous people, an education opportunity for young people which could see employment for Indigenous people. Flora and fauna knowledge expanded in this way, will see more people appreciating and wanting to participate in protecting the treasure we already have at our doorstep.

Nothing gets done properly
The condition of the roads in the Shoalhaven area are among the worst I have ever driven on. I don't think there is one road within the area that doesn't have at least a dozen potholes. Potholes are badly patched and within days what was thrown in the hole has disappeared. Nothing gets done properly.
The weeds are out of control on council controlled land, fire weed is taking over.
Shoalhaven is the third coastal council area I have lived in over the last 10 years and out of the three council areas Shoalhaven is by far the worst, the worst roads, no weed control policy I can see, no feral animal control policy, no domestic cat control policy.
