MILTON-ULLADULLA product Jack Murchie will be with the New Zealand Warriors until the end of the 2022 NRL season, after recently signing a contract extension. Murchie, who joined the Warriors from Canberra in May, had a deal with the club that ran until the end of 2020. But he has made such an impression through his first five games for the club, they decided to offer him a two-year upgrade. Read more: Murchie thrives in his increased NRL role with Warriors The 23-year-old, who won a premiership with Gerringong in 2015, made his club debut on May 30, in the Warriors' win against the Dragons. Since then, he has featured in all of the Warriors next four fixtures - including his first NRL start of his career against the Melbourne Storm in round seven. Warriors interim head coach Todd Payten said the 193cm forward has made a huge impression since arriving in their Central Coast camp. "He's is a popular squad member. "He's working really hard on his game, as he seeks to establish himself in our NRL squad. "Jack's always doing extras with the coaches and has the work ethic we are looking for. "He has contributed well as he looks to move his game to a new level." "I've really enjoyed my time here with the boys and getting to know them - I feel right at home," Murchie said. "I'm looking forward to the next two and a half years to establish myself in the team and be the best player I can be."
