He does not want to see another student or anyone else lose their life like teenager Zoie Bell did last week.
Wes decided he would start an online petition with the aim of shaking up the decision-makers and getting them to finally do something to make the streets around the high school safer for all.
"I just wanted to do my part," Wes said about starting the petition.
"It [the streets around Ulladulla High like St Vincent] has been a nightmare for far too long.
"Not having one zebra crossing near the school is just shameful."
Wes thinks the reason why there are no zebra crossings crossing is the traffic decision-makers do not want to cause any gridlocks.
He proposes traffic lights near the school would be the best and safest option.
Zoie's family agrees.
"We would love everyone to push for a scramble crossing which stops traffic in all directions, so large numbers of people can cross in any direction safely," Zoie's family said online

Many people are signing the petition and it is impressively ticking over with Wes' goal of 2500 about to be reached and passed with ease.
Wes added we [the community] have got to do something.
"It's a joke," he said.
"I don't think there would be a resident in Ulladulla who would be against fixing it [the traffic safety issues] up."
Wes, more than a decade ago, went to the school himself and said it was bad back then.
He wants the petition to expose the need to fix the area up and hopes someone in government - federal, state or council - supports the safety move and uses their influence to fix the area up.
"It just can't be ignored," he said.
