A major move was made in 2018 when it was announced that Budawang School would move from its Camden and Narrawallee Streets Ulladulla site into a bigger and more modern facility.
The NSW Government, in 2018, announced it had bought the Shoalhaven Anglican School Site in Milton.
Plans for the land were also made public at the time.
The new facility will open in 2022, according to a spokesperson to the NSW Department of Education.

"The NSW Government has committed to delivering a new School for Specific Purposes (SSP) to address ongoing enrolment growth on the South Coast," the spokesperson said.
"The new SSP is planned to open in 2022 and will provide students and staff with excellent modern teaching facilities and the potential for future expansion of the school.
"The new SSP will have seven learning spaces and also provide a much-needed hydrotherapy pool.
"The site is being planned to accommodate for the expansion of education facilities as needed in the future."
The property was purchased at a cost of $4.25 million in September 2018.
