St Georges Basin at Sussex Inlet suffered moderate flooding early Tuesday morning with a second peak of 1.20m is expected on the high tide to bring further flooding.
Based on the prediction provided by the Bureau of Meteorology it is expected the following areas will be impacted by dangerous floodwaters:
The State Emergency Service says it has extra crews also heading to the area.
There is an evacuation order out for some parts of Sussex Inlet with moderate a flood warning for St Georges Basin.
A warning has gone out to low lying areas along the Inlet, including caravan parks, roads and properties and their dwellings.
Jacobs Drive leading into and out of Sussex Inlet and River Road on either side of the Badgee.
Bridge and many other local roads will be impacted.
What you need to do:
People in areas likely to be impacted by flooding should act now to prepare properties for flooding.
Stay up to date with information. Listen to flood warnings and follow the advice on how to protect yourself, family and property - see below for ways to stay informed.
Pack essential items in waterproof bag: food, water, warm clothes, medications, valuables, important documents, toys for children in case you need to leave.
Prepare and crate your pets so you always know where they are.
Clean up yards and secure moveable objects such as trampolines, barbecue and outdoor furniture.
Check on your family, friends and neighbours and share this information.
Farmers and rural property owners should move pumps, other equipment and livestock away from rising waters.
Motorists should never drive through flood waters, which may have washed away road surfaces and could be deeper or faster-flowing than they look.
Safety is your highest priority - Never drive, walk or play in flood waters.

Extra Endeavour Energy crews on their way as power cut to 6100 homes and businesses
Extra crews from the Illawarra and Western Sydney have been brought into the Shoalhaven to assist local Endeavour Energy crews with the repair effort as 6100 Shoalhaven homes and businesses remain without power.
Endeavour Energy crews worked late into last night to restore supply where possible, extensive repairs are required today to get power safely back to all storm affected customers.
Emergency crews have started work to safely restore power, with almost 200 electrical hazards still needing repairs, especially where the strong winds have brought down trees and powerlines
At the height of the storm on Monday, more than 15,000 customers were without electricity due to the extensive damage caused by strong winds and torrential rain.
As the weather clears Tuesday, residents are reminded to please stay at least eight metres from fallen powerlines and report them immediately by calling Endeavour Energy's emergency line 131 003.
The main areas without power are Sanctuary Point (1642), Bawley Point (800), Old Erowal Bay (544), Ulladulla (387), Berrara (376), Kioloa (326), Milton (320), Worrowing Heights (311), Woollamia (290), Cudmirrah (248), St Georges Basin (193), Bendalong (168), Swanhaven (129), Termeil (111), Hyams Beach (65), Mollymook (55), Sussex Inlet (43), Falls Creek (32), Yellow Rock (23), Woodstock (22).
