THE management of the Mollymook Golf Club from today (Tuesday July 28) will be easing restrictions and allowing non-locals into the facility.
Club CEO John Holt last week announced for the wellbeing of staff, patrons and the community, that the difficult decision to restrict entry to those people who reside in the postcode areas of 2538 and 2539 until further notice was made.
It came after the COVID-19 situation in Batemans Bay which involved several clubs.
Mollymook Golf Club has reviewed its restriction policy.
"The Batemans Bay outbreak has been well managed and we feel the risk to people in our venues is now minimal," Mr Holt said.
"We will remain vigilant with exercising strict COVID-19 management plans and ensuring people who have visited official hotspots in the last two weeks will be denied entry."
Other local clubs that made the same restriction decision will be easing them this week,
Mr Holt is not the only person pleased with the way the Bateman Bay outbreak was managed.
NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant was also keeping an eye on the situation.
Dr Chant said she was "incredibly pleased" with the response of the Batemans Bay community, saying the testing rate and quick isolation has helped to stem any major outbreak.
