The local volunteers handled an impressive number of calls for help and received assistance from other emergency service volunteers.
"A big thanks to the Canterbury Unit SES, Yass SES and Milton RFS for your help today [Tuesday]," a SES spokesperson said.
"Together with our four teams of volunteers we have tackled the 261 requests for assistance and reduced that to just 120 outstanding.
"We do apologise if you are still waiting. We have more help coming today [Wednesday]."
The number to call the SES to get assistance is 132 500.
Fire and Rescue NSW Station 477 Ulladulla also helped out with the emergency response work.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a strong wind warning for the Illawarra coast, Bateman's coast and Eden coast for today [Wednesday July 29].
A gale warning has been issued for the Illawarra coast, Bateman's coast and Eden coast for tomorrow [Thursday July 30].
The neighbouring village of Sussex Inlet, in the meantime, was one of the areas hit hard by the storm, but many residents took it all in their stride.
Sandra and Dennis Wood have lived in River Road at Sussex Inlet for more than 35 years.
Their home fronts the waterway, virtually right in the middle as the water from St Georges Basin rushes by to the opening at the ocean.
And while this week's flooding is "bad" according to the couple it is nothing on 2015.
"We've seen a few floods over the years, this isn't too bad," Mrs Wood said."2015 was much worse. That was big."
Endeavour Energy teams were also busy over the past few days.
Power has been restored to all but 90 Shoalhaven customers affected by the East Coast Low.
Further repairs are needed today [Wednesday, July 29] before power is back to all customers.
Extra crews from Western Sydney are in the Shoalhaven to help complete the storm clean up.
Any Shoalhaven customers without power today [Wednesday, July 29] are requested to please call 131 003.
Endeavour Energy asks people to be careful of unidentified electrical hazards hidden in storm debris and bushfire damaged trees destabilised by the storm.
"Thank you for your patience and the messages of support for our crews working to safely clean up the storm damage," an Endeavour Energy spokesperson said.
