There have been 450 new coronavirus cases recorded in the past 24 hours across Victoria, Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed as Minister for Education James Merlino announced additional support for senior students.
There has now been 13,867 accumulative cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
There has been an additional 11 deaths, bringing the states total to 181.
Across the state 607 people are in hospital with the virus, including 41 in intensive care.
Mr Andrews said there had been an increase of 66 cases with unknown sources, which had decreased from Thursday's total.
Mr Andrews highlighted the work of healthcare workers throughout the pandemic as he confirmed 911 active cases of healthcare workers across the state.
The Australian Defence Force and authorised Department of Health and Human Services have completed the greatest single day of door knocks with 1150 checks on active cases. About 150 positive cases were not in their homes at the time of their check.
"I want to say thank you to every single Victorian doing the right thing," Mr Andrews said.
"Unless we drive down movement, we won't drive down cases."
Mr Merlino announced every VCE student would be individually assessed and any impacts from COVID19 would be considered.
These impacts include increased absences and mental health impacts.
"I'm constantly asked about this," he said.
"(But now) they'll go into their final exams knowing they're not at a disadvantage.
"This puts them on a level playing field across the state."
Mr Merlino also announced additional support for disadvantaged children through a further $28.5 million of funding for the mental health sector.
This funding will increase mental health training for school's staff, see the roll out pf mental health practitioners in every school including specialist schools and the Navigator Program will have additional support to held disengaged students.
