"This decision was taken due to the ongoing restrictions imposed to manage the COVID-19 virus," the Rotary Club of Milton-Ulladulla made in a statement.
Club president Leonie Smith said the announcement was sad.
"It is a disappointing outcome for the princesses of 2020. A traditional right of passage that has been denied them this year," she said.
All princess sponsors will be refunded, and the cost of ball tickets will also be refunded.
Princess sponsors will be contacted directly to organise refunds.
To arrange refunds for purchased ball tickets please email the secretary at dee.fors@gmail.com the following details: banking details for electronic funds transfer including account name, BSB, and account number, the numbers from the tickets that were purchased and your princesses name.
The club asks that these details be provided by October 9 to facilitate prompt refunds.
The 2020 Blessing of the Fleet Festival was cancelled earlier in the year, which was a blow for the community.
"It is too early to make a decision regarding the Blessing of the Fleet Festival next Easter," Ms Smith said
"The committee is examining alternate dates, the festival may need to be reinvented or pushed back in the year."
Meanwhile, Ms Smith has written to Ulladulla High School to seek their assistance in hosting a special school assembly, announcing the runners up and winning princess, when it is legal to do so.
