Three more community-based bushfire recovery events are scheduled for the remainder of the month [October].
The recovery events, mostly held at local Rural Fire Service [RFS] stations, give people the opportunity to receive recovery advice from a number of community service providers.
Organisations like Shoalhaven City Council, Red Cross, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, Catholic Care, Service NSW, Local Land Services South East, Anglicare, Barnardos Australia and NSW Office of Sport have attended previous recovery events.
A sausage sizzle will be offered at some locations.
The agenda for upcoming recovery events is: Thursday, October 22, 12-3pm at the Lake Tabourie RFS Station, Tuesday, October 27, 12-3pm at the Depot Beach RFS Station and Thursday, October 29, 2-4pm at Morton, Corner of Clyde Ridge Road and Woodburn Road at the bus stop covered area.
People can also call the Bushfire Helpline on 4428 5888 for advice.
Several recovery events, including one at Bawley Point, were held this year.
Captain of the Bawley Point Rural Fire Service brigade Charlie Magnusson was happy the community made the most of their recent bushfire recovery afternoon.
People at the Bawley Point event got advice and information on recovery assistance available to them following the Currowan fire by way of charitable services, mental health and wellbeing services, support for businesses, clean-up services, financial assistance, grants and rebates, insurance and legal support, fire danger period preparation and even replacing lost IDs.
Captain Charlie said they were also able to give people information on how to prepare for this year's bushfire season.
'It was good for the community to get out and come together," Captain Charlie said.
