Police allege that, shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday, October 25, a driver in a utility struck an unattended Kia Sedan parked in a driveway of a home.

The 56-year-old householder came to investigate and was allegedly punched in the face.

The driver then allegedly drove twice into a NSW Ambulance, causing significant front-end damage.

Police said a female paramedic suffered a fractured arm, while a male paramedic sustained multiple rib fractures.

"The paramedics, and the injured 56-year-old man, were treated at the scene before being taken to Moruya Hospital," police said.

South Coast Police District officers attended and sighted the vehicle near Hector McWilliam Drive, however, attempts to stop the driver were unsuccessful.

"A short time later, the vehicle was located on the Old Princes Highway at Turlinjah," police said.

"The male driver was arrested before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing under police guard.

"He was subsequently released and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving, common assault, failing to stop and assist after an impact causing injury, not stopping a vehicle when directed to do so and two counts of failing to exchange particulars.

"The man was refused bail to appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on Tuesday, October 27."

Investigations are continuing.
