The rally was hosted by the Burrill Lake Community Association and the message was clear - many residents are not in favour of the "preferred option".
Those at the rally say the bypass route must be reviewed.
It's estimated that 600 people attended the rally and they are not in favour of the traffic being funnelled out from the bypass and into villages like Burrill Lake and Tabourie Lake.
A significant majority of people, at the rally, think that Burrill Lake and Tabourie Lake should also be bypassed.
Many residents say the preferred option would change the look, shape and lifestyle elements of their villages forever.
Speakers at the rally included Ian Carroll - Burrill Lake Community Association, David Swartz - Tabourie Lake Residents Association, Federal Member for Fiona Phillips MP, State Member for the South Coast Shelly Hancock MP, Mayor of Shoalhaven City Amanda Findley, and Shoalhaven City Councillor Patricia White.
The rally march then got underway, proceeding over Burrill Lake Bridge along the footpath beside the Princes Highway and up to Canberra Crescent.
Thanks goes to the Ulladulla Police for keeping the participants traffic safe.
The rally was one part of the Burrill Lake Community Association's campaign against the bypass.
The group's E-petition is another part of the campaign.
"The more signatures we have from NSW residents the more Transport for NSW will have to sit up and pay attention to what we want, rather than what they will inflict," was how the association explained why it was important for people to sign the E-petition.
