The motion, put by Councillor John Wells, calls for council staff to prepare a report about issues associated with the council's online 'DA tracker' service.
The tracker contains information about development applications, including submissions opposed to proposed developments.

Cr Wells said he was concerned that some of those submissions made allegations about people who have submitted DA's, and as the publisher of those submissions the council could be sued for defamation.
Councillor Greg Watson suggested the council consider guidelines for DA objections, and not publish objections that did not follow those guidelines.
Councillor Patricia White said the timeliness of the DA process was also an issue.
"We have letters that are written on December 1 being received in the second week of January," she said.
"Surely we can get a better system."
