Ulladulla's educational land issues continues

JUST where the Department of Education's "sufficient land in the region for future educational requirements" in the Milton/Ulladulla area is remains unclear.
The department has come under criticism recently for its decision to sell a piece of land in Mollymook which was once designated for educational purposes and also for a lack of progression and upgrade of Ulladulla High.
The Milton Ulladulla Times recently asked the department where its other land is?
"The Department of Education owns a site at 98 Garside Road, Mollymook that has been declared surplus to education needs and as such is approved for divestment," a spokesperson for the NSW Department of Education said.
"The department owns sufficient land in the region for future educational requirements, including the site of the former Shoalhaven Anglican School at Milton."
The good news is that the planned expansion of Budawang School is progressing.
"The department is committed to delivering a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) at the former Shoalhaven Anglican School at Milton." the spokesperson said.
"The Budawang SSP project is expected to be placed on public exhibition later this year, allowing the community and other stakeholders to make comments.
"Once the development application has been approved, construction work can start."
There was a suggestion made from two parents that a revamped high school and Budwang could both fit on the Croobyar Road site which was once the Shoalhaven Anglican School.
"There has been no decision made regarding a high school or any other future uses for the site," the spokesperson said.
"The department is committed to consulting with the local community on the future use of the site."
