Former South Coast police officer charged over alleged assault while on duty

A former police officer has been charged following an alleged assault on the South Coast in 2019.
The 45-year-old former senior constable, who was attached to a command in the Southern Region, was issued with a court attendance notice on Thursday, February 25, for two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Police will allege in court that the former officer, who was on-duty at the time, assaulted a 21-year-old man during an arrest at Sanctuary Point on January 11, 2019.
He is due to appear in Nowra Local Court on Monday, April 26.
The officer left the NSW Police Force in 2020.
